Introducing new colours, new designs and unique premium textures, the Formica Group is pleased to announce the launch of the latest Formica® Collection. A practical, relevant and complete resource for European Designers and Architects, the Formica Collection 2010 offers inspiration and choice for beautiful and contemporary surfaces for a wide range of environments.

The Formica Collection is a harmonised portfolio of decorative laminate options, specially selected in response to European trends. With extensive colour families and co-ordination between ranges, textures and patterns, innovation and exclusivity are watchwords of this exciting offer.

The Formica Collection reference tools provide architects and designers with a comprehensive overview of the new Formica Collection. With the specifier’s needs in mind, these key selection tools have been carefully designed to ease the creative process. In addition, the Formica Group website offers a wealth of design inspiration with product applications, case studies, downloadable brochures and an online samples service.

Over 25% of the Formica Collection is brand new to the market, offering a depth in choice of colours, surface finishes, exciting new patterns and wood decors. The Formica Collection has been developed to present an exciting, contemporary palette to designers to help create outstanding, co-ordinated schemes whatever the starting point.

Highlights for 2010
Shaped by extensive global trend research and analysis, the Formica Collection has been created to meet both today’s and tomorrow’s market needs. Ideal for modern and classic interiors, it offers the designer a complete choice of innovative, on-trend decorative laminates.

New plain colours have been thoughtfully selected to answer key trends, with colour families featuring warm and neutral colour palettes, all presented within the Colors and Premium Colors ranges,
Possum, Seed and Fossil add to the choice of subtle, architecturally-inspired neutrals, while Viola and Orchid bring additional trendy berry-coloured hues for atmospheric, accents.

Vibrant Energy is the first of a new generation of LED-inspired colours, whilst Wasabi, Maui and Lemon add stunning, fresh, nature-inspired tones.

Bringing deep, organic and smoky tones, which partner harmoniously with all soft colours and warm whites, Indian Smoke, Mojave, Choco and Earth are new elements of this colour family within the Formica Collection 2010.

For easy reference purposes, Formica Colors within the new Collection reference tools have been arranged in accordance with the NCS® colour system. As a favoured colour system of the architectural and interior design communities, the NCS system has been acknowledged in the structure and organisation of the new Formica Collection.

Rigato™ by Formica Group is an exclusive new texture with a classic stripe which plays on the contrast between matt and gloss finishes and linear etching. It is a unique innovation from Formica Group working with designer Kristina Rastrom. This new texture offers an extra dimension expressed in six architectural plain colours (Polar White, Silver, Seed, Fossil, Earth and Graphite).

High performance, high-gloss finish, AR Plus® by Formica Group has been introduced featuring a selection of stylish new plain colours and fashionable woods, responding to the strong trend for glossy, reflective looks. Perfect for adding emphasis and a luxurious finish, AR Plus® creates a striking yet sophisticated design feature. Stunning when used on vibrant plain colours and black or white, this high performance gloss surface also adds an extra dimension to luxurious new introductions such as Couture Wood and Vogue Wood.

Woods
The Formica Collection refreshes the Woods range with updated colourations, new species and unusual layouts. New introductions include exciting and innovative horizontal grains, Ivory and Ebony Oak Cross. Furthermore, Oiled Olivewood and Elegant Rosewood reflect the trend towards rich exotics, providing a dramatic contrast to the more traditional looks of Classic and Oiled Walnut.

The popular surface finish Naturelle™ by Formica Group partners many new wood introductions including subtle Accent Maple, a new generation of maple with a heartwood element; Elegant Oak; greyed Smoky Brown Pear; rich brown Espresso Pear and sophisticated Vintage and Nocturne Wood, both of which are based on cedar wood, highlighted by fashionable, smoky brown tones.

Patterns
Innovation and differentiation have been guiding forces in introducing new patterns to the Collection. Exclusive to the Formica Collection is Mode, inspired by digital pixilation and scale variation. Mode is a Premium Pattern in three scales (mini, midi and maxi), uniquely available in colour combinations based on the Colors range, with customisable pattern colourations.

Geo, also new within the Formica® Patterns range, is destined to become a classic, with its striking, complex organic weave defined in a family of six colours, all of which co-ordinate with specific colours of the Formica® Colors range.

Dogbone in black, white and rich brown represents a new generation of optical solids and is both playful and geometric. Dogbone also co-ordinates with matching decors from the Formica Colors range.

Another new feature of the Patterns range, Strand brings an intriguing cross-over option that perfectly meets the needs of modern interiors; offering the usability of familiar wood tones, Strand is a uniquely abstracted pattern in a series of four colour options.

Unique, exclusive decors and surface finishes co-ordinate within as well as between ranges to demonstrate the true versatility and usability of the new Formica Collection 2010. With this launch, the Formica Group continues to innovate and lead the market in decorative laminates, bringing a practical, relevant resource to help create outstanding environments.
