Young designer creates striking stand for Formica Limited

This year the Formica Limited stand at 100% Design has been designed by Newcastle-based young designer David Nicklin. Drawing inspiration from colourful gardens that excite the senses, the stand showcases the Formica Limited ‘Range Additions 2006', which are being launched at the show, in a fun and innovative way.
Creating a riot of colour, visitors can weave in and out of a ‘garden' of hundreds of laminate samples. They can experience at first hand the exciting new colours, surface textures, woodgrains and patterns included in ‘The Range Additions 2006', being shown together for the first time. The ‘Range Additions 2006' is an expansion of ‘The Collection' from Formica Limited, and introduces over 90 new laminates reflecting global design trends.

David Nicklin is also the founder of Boojee Furniture and the stand will feature tables designed by him that showcase Formica ® laminate with the new MicroDot texture.
In addition, the winning designs from the 2005 Formica ® Design a Laminate competition will be displayed on the stand. Details and entry forms for the 2006 competition are available at the stand.

About David Nicklin, Boojee Furniture
Young designer, David Nicklin graduated in Industrial Design (BA Hons) from Sheffield University in 2003, having spent his second year on placement at the University of Lapland . Since graduating David has been working freelance and developing his business ‘Boojee Furniture'. The company, based in Newcastle , reflects David's stringent design principles. Offering an incredibly high quality finish, all the company's products are designed and manufactured in the UK and embody well thought out design, materials fit for purpose and quality craftsmanship. Boojee Furniture launched its first products in May 2005; a range of sleek coffee and dining room tables featuring Formica® laminate and a unique floating mirror that uses shadow and refracted light to create a silhouette effect.
